A record you can produce, not a story you have to remember.
Most disputes in event work are not about bad faith. They are about two parties recalling the same conversation differently, months later, with money attached. The Trust Log removes recollection from the equation.
Six properties, each with a consequence.
Append-only
No event is ever edited or deleted. A correction is written as a new event that supersedes the earlier one and points back to it, so the mistake and the fix are both visible.
Attributed
Every event carries the actor, the role they held at the time, and a reliable timestamp. “The supplier said so” becomes a record with a name against it.
Valued
Where something changed, the before and after values are captured — a price, a scope, a date, an approval limit — not merely the fact that a change occurred.
Evidenced
Events link to the artefact they concern: the quotation, the booking, the file version, the approval. The chain resolves to documents, not to recollection.
Tamper-evident
Each event carries a digest derived from its content and position. Altering history in place breaks the chain visibly rather than silently.
Exportable
A project's log exports as an ordered evidence chain suitable for a dispute, an audit or a hand-over — without exposing personal data beyond what the recipient is entitled to see.
Consequence, not chatter.
Not every click is logged. An event is written when something happens that a party could later need to prove.
- Project created, scope or budget ceiling changed
- AI plan generated or regenerated
- Collaborator invited, role or approval limit set
- RFQ issued, amended, cancelled or closed
- Quotation submitted, withdrawn or superseded
- Quotes compared and the basis of comparison used
- Award made, booking and deposit record created
- Deposit approved, rejected, or refused for exceeding a limit
- Change order raised and accepted
- Internal message posted to a project channel
- File uploaded, versioned or reclassified
- Delivery evidence recorded and project closed
What the Trust Log is not
- It is not a blockchain. It is an append-only event store with chained digests — the integrity property matters, the distributed ledger does not.
- It is not a legal instrument. It is evidence that supports a contract; it does not replace one, and legal review remains the parties' responsibility.
- It is not a surveillance record. Access follows role and project isolation, and an auditor sees evidence without excessive exposure of personal data.
